Zobo's Professional Installations
Today's electronics provide in-home experiences that rival the local Cineplex. Installation of these electronics takes a significant amount of skill. If you're a homeowner who would call an electrician to install a new outlet, or a plumber to put in a new sink, you should be working with a professional installer to handle your home theater system. All Zobo installers are trained, certified professionals. And we never use subcontractors—a Zobo installer is a Zobo employee.
So, what goes into a Zobo install? Here are just some of the steps that we go through:
Click a step for more details.
1. Researching electronic components
Like everything, doing it right starts at the beginning. At Zobo, that means constantly researching and testing new products, so that no matter what our customers choose, they can rest assured that it represents the best of what's available on the market at each price point. It's simple - our customers can't make a bad choice.
2. Delivering everything to your door
All Zobo packages include delivery. And we don't leave you with a garage full of cardboard and packing material. After all, you won't be needing it: if your equipment ever malfunctions, our Hot Swap Guarantee means that we'll deliver loaner equipment and take care of any necessary repairs for you.
3. Determining the best setup for the room
This step actually happens long before the install...it happens before any purchase is made. Some of our customers know exactly what they want...but most of the time, our System Designers work closely with our customers to ensure they get the best solution for their needs. Whether it's choosing the right wall to mount a flat panel on...findng a place to hide equipment down the hall...or selecting the right piece of furniture, the experts at Zobo.tv are there to help.
4. Working with the cable or satellite company
Do you like waiting on hold? We didn't think so. With Zobo, you won't even have to call the cable company to get a new box. We take care of everything needed to get high-definition service to your new system.
5. Installing speakers in the walls or ceiling
Most of our customers like to hear the speakers, not see them. A Zobo install includes precision installation of in-wall speakers or in-ceiling speakers so your system doesn't take away from your decor. We can even paint your speaker grills to match your wall. Of course, we'll also take care of running all of the necessary wires through your walls to deliver crystal-clear digital surround sound.
6. Optimizing subwoofer placement
For a real movie-theater-at-home experience, you need a great subwoofer. But, because of their unique sonic characteristics, even the best subwoofer can sound terrible if it's in the wrong place relative to the sitting area. Zobo.tv's technicians know how room acoustics and calibration impact a subwoofer...and they have the experience to make your system reach its full audio potential.
7. Protecting the system from power surges
We install surge protection on all of the electronic components in a system. location you have chosen. This protects your equipment from being damaged in the event of a sudden electrical spike. How important is this? Well, we won't sell a system without it.
8. Connecting the electronics
It sounds simple, but with today's electronics, there are a lot of choices to make when hooking things up. HDMI, component video, digital audio, toslink...the list goes on. Zobo.tv technicians know what these connections mean...and when to use each one. And they use only professional-quality cables to connect components so they deliver the best possible performance.
9. Mounting the TV
A good install is never seen...and a bad one is never missed. At Zobo, we take great care to ensure that all wires are concealed behind professional quality mounting hardware, so all that our customer sees is a beautiful picture.
10. Calibrating Video
Most people don’t realize that TVs are set up at the factory to look good under the glare of thousands of watts of fluorescent light and to stand out among a wall of TVs. While that’s great for the sales floor of your local electronics store or warehouse club, it’s terrible for your living room. Every Zobo install includes precision video calibration, to produce natural, film-like images.
11. Calibrating Audio
Every room reflects sound differently. Carpeting, furniture, ceiling height and other factors can all impact how a speaker sounds in a particular room. A Zobo installation includes audio calibration to neutralize the impacts of a room and provide the natural, clear audio that great speakers are capable of producing.
12. Programming the remote and components
A Zobo.tv system is, above all, simple to use and live with. And the most important thing we do to ensure that is take the time to program everything (the remote and the components) so that it's easy to use. It's hard to get things to be simple...but it's our #1 priority.
